JobSwipe helps you find jobs and apply to them by email. To do that, it asks for permission to send email from your Gmail account, and it stores the CV and profile details used to write those applications. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to get it deleted.
The short version: we only ever send mail — we never read, open, scan, modify or delete anything in your mailbox. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use data obtained through Google APIs to train AI models.

JobSwipe ("JobSwipe", "we", "us") is operated by Ruthwest Limited. The service is available at https://myopportunity.site.
For any privacy question, data access request or deletion request, contact support@myopportunity.site. Ruthwest Limited is the data controller for the information described in this policy.
When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, your email address, and your basic profile information (such as your name). See section 3 for the full detail on scopes and use.
You upload a CV, which we store as a PDF file. We extract structured details from it so applications can be written for you: name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn address, professional headline, summary, work experience, education, skills, and certifications.
We also store "application facts" where your CV states them — including work authorisation, visa sponsorship needs, nationality, notice period, salary expectations, willingness to relocate, remote-work preference, and confirmation that you are of legal working age. Some of this may be sensitive in your country. We collect it only because employers routinely ask, we take it only from what your CV explicitly states, and you can edit or remove it at any time.
If you choose to share your location, we use your coordinates to work out your city or region so we can show relevant jobs. Coordinates are sent to the Google Geocoding API for that conversion; we store the resulting place name, not a location history.
We record which jobs you swipe on, the applications you queue, and a record of each application email we send on your behalf — including the recipient address, subject line, message body, and the Gmail message identifier returned when it is sent. This is what fills your Applications tab and stops the same employer being contacted twice.
Because JobSwipe sends email in your name, we keep evidence of your permission: the exact consent wording you agreed to, the time you agreed, and the IP address and browser user-agent you agreed from. We keep this to demonstrate that automatic sending was authorised.
We set a session cookie to keep you signed in, and store a matching session record with an expiry time. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
JobSwipe requests the minimum scopes needed to work. It does not request permission to read your mail, and technically cannot do so.
| Permission requested | What it allows | Why JobSwipe needs it |
|---|---|---|
openid |
Confirms your Google identity. | To create and recognise your account. |
userinfo.email |
Your email address. | To identify your account and contact you about it. |
userinfo.profile |
Basic profile info, such as your name. | To display who is signed in and to name you in the app. |
gmail.send |
Send email only. It grants no ability to read, list, search, open, download, modify, label or delete any message, and no access to your inbox, drafts, contacts or settings. | To send your job application from your own address, so the employer receives it from you and can reply directly to you. |
What we do with Google user data. We use the identity scopes solely to authenticate you and
maintain your account. We use gmail.send solely to transmit application emails that you have queued,
to recipients determined by the job you swiped on. Every send is triggered by your own action and your standing
consent, is capped per day, and is logged in your Applications tab so you can see exactly what went out.
We never send marketing, bulk or promotional mail from your account, and we never send anything to a recipient you did not queue.
To send mail later — for example when your application is queued behind the daily pacing limit — we store the refresh token Google issues. It is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM under a key held outside the database. You can revoke it at any time (see section 10), which immediately and permanently ends our ability to send anything.
JobSwipe's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically, and without limiting the above:
JobSwipe uses Anthropic's Claude API to read your CV into a structured profile and to write each application email.
Every generated email is checked automatically before sending — for unfilled placeholders, wrong length, and relevance to the role — and rejected if it fails. Generated text can still contain mistakes; see the Terms of Service for your responsibility to review it.
Where the law requires a legal basis, ours is: performance of a contract for operating the service, consent for sending email from your account and for location, legal obligation for records we must keep, and legitimate interests for security and abuse prevention.
| Recipient | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Employers and their recruiters | Your application email and your CV attached as a PDF. | This is the purpose of the service. Once sent, an email cannot be recalled, and the employer's own privacy practices then apply to it — not ours. |
| Sign-in requests; the content of application emails you send; location coordinates for geocoding. | Authentication, mail delivery from your own account, and converting coordinates to a place name. | |
| Anthropic | Your CV and profile text and the public job description, as described in section 5. | To parse your CV and draft your application emails. |
| Hosting and infrastructure | Data stored on servers we control. | To run the service. |
We do not sell your personal information, do not share it with data brokers, and do not use it for advertising or profiling unrelated to your job search. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and any relevant regulator of a breach affecting your data where the law requires it.
Emails already delivered to an employer are outside our control and are not deleted by deleting your account.
You can withdraw consent to automatic sending at any time in the app. Nothing further is sent from that moment.
You can disconnect your Google account inside JobSwipe, which revokes our access with Google and erases the stored tokens. You can also revoke access directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Either action immediately ends our ability to send email as you.
Email support@myopportunity.site to request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and associated data. We respond within 30 days.
JobSwipe is available internationally, and your local law may give you specific rights:
JobSwipe is used globally, and our service providers — including Google and Anthropic — process data in countries that may differ from your own, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.
JobSwipe is not intended for anyone under 18, and you must be of legal working age in your country to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes — particularly any change to how Google user data is used — we will notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
